"How are you going to PACK?!?!"
That's the question we've been asked the most recently.
I'm no packing expert, so I consulted the Internet (okay, mostly Pinterest) to find inspiration. Two websites that were extremely useful to the both of us are: One Bag and Travel Fashion Girl.
Very uncharacteristically, I have delayed putting things in my suitcase until today. I've had my list, I just didn't want to commit.
I am happy to say that we have both been able to condense our things into one carry-on sized suitcase each plus a JanSport backpack for him and a HUGE yellow purse for me. I didn't take pictures as J packed his suitcase, so all I can show is how I packed my things.

| 5 tops |
 |
| 3 sweaters |
 |
| 1 black dress, 1 pencil skirt, 2 dress pants, 1 pair of blue jeans |
 |
| Wear on plane |
 |
| Soft clothes (what my friend Grey calls comfy pj type clothes) and exercise clothes |
 |
| Tennis shoes stuffed with socks and tights to make us of all available space |
 |
| I started with the shoes on the bottom (duh), followed by my raincoat in a bag (I forgot to take a picture of that), one pair of jeans, the packing cube filled with exercise clothes, then soft clothes and the black dress next, and finally the other packing cubes with the rest of my clothes. Those cubes are truly amazing! |
 |
| The final odds and ends in my purse: LOTS and LOTS of snacks to prevent hangriness, all the liquids and what not to comply with TSA regulations in their own Zip-Lock bag, a variety of small zip bags with an assortment of lip balms, tissues, wet wipes, ID and charge cards, and the like, sunglasses and a coozy, my Fitbit, sweater, blazer, scarves (thank you to my dear friend Kelleybo who advised me on which to take-picture text messages are the best), magazines, and by brand new Kindle. Amazingly, this all fit into the purse I carry everyday during the summer. I'm not sure what that says about my everyday purse...yes, I do, it says I carry a HUGE purse. |

That's how I packed.
Yay!! SO exciting! I'll have to remember this when I pack for a week and have a hard time. I'm already anticipating it trouble to whittle down what I need when we go to AL again.
ReplyDeleteBtw, if you see Tim Tams anywhere in Europe, partake my friend- partake.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot about Tim Tams-thanks for the reminder! I'll definitely enjoy some if we see them.

ReplyDeleteSave me a pic if you rock the stripe top with the floral skirt. I think it'd be fab.
