Mansilla de Las Mulas to Puente Villarente

Miles walked 4.06
Steps taken 12,735
Hours spent hanging out three hours in the morning at a cafe just outside of Punete Villarente.  We set out this morning a little after 8, but check in wasn't until noon.  We did a walk through of Punete Villarente, found it less than exciting to hang out in, and returned to the cafe ten minutes outside of town.  We spent the hours booking our stays for the upcoming week.  We leave the Meseta tomorrow when we arrive in Léon.  The walks next week are much more physically challenging.  We tried to space our walks so that we don't have intense elevation changes + long distances.  One or the other, but not both, please! Checked in to our surprisingly charming hostel (hello private room yet again) and spent the afternoon on the shaded patio reading and playing cards.

Have we eaten lunch yet?  No.  Spain doesn't believe in lunch.  Only two hours until supper.  Tengo hombre!

Bernacios del real Camino to Mansilla de Las Mulas

Miles walked 16.66
Steps taken 42,836
Lawdhavemercy the longest walk of the trip so far.  It wasn't difficult terrain, but it was long.  I did walk the first ten miles without listening to anything.  Matthew McConaughey's Greenlights got me through the last 6 miles, though.  I dare say he's quite the philosopher, so I consider it personal development to listen to him.
Wildlife spotted a few cats, one proudly carrying mouse he'd predated in the field nearby.

A little black and white kitty cat greeted us from above.
Our *private room* yet again!  The Meseta is pretty rural, so we gotta grab a bed where we can.  If that bed happens to be in an albergue/restaurant that only has privayrooms with private bathrooms, we will take it.
