Flight to Paris, Paris Day One

Despite a potential French air traffic controller strike, we made it to Paris without any issues.

Arrived at lunch time and made it to the hotel by late afternoon.  Secured walking poles for the trek on the Camino and saw some beautiful scenery as well.  Delicious charcuterie plate for supper and back at hotel for a restful night's sleep.

All scenery is between the hotel and then outdoor store where we bough walking poles.

I Would Walk 500 Miles

Here's the plan:

Spend ten weeks on the Camino de Santiago - specifically the Camino Francés.

Many people make this pilgrimage in a month or so, walking 15-18 miles per day.  But, my friend and I built in a rest day once a week and reduced the amount of miles walked per day.

Stay in hostels most nights, start walking each morning - anywhere between 7 to 15 miles per day, but averaging about 10 miles per day, walk to our next destination and find accommodations for the night.  Rinse and repeat until we cover the 500 miles of the Camino Francés.

Continue on to the "end of the world", Finisterre.  Walking?  Busing?  Not sure how we will get there, but figured we should press on to the end of the world.

Carry my belongings in a backpack on my back.

Discover the meaning of life.

Simple, right?
