Some firsts in San Francisco

The firsts we experienced while visiting friends in San Francisco and Mountain View:

We walked to Coit Tower.

We found the Sotto Mare Restaurant and had a delicious lunch.  We've never had ciopinno before, so it was the best damn cioppino we've ever had.

We visited Ghirardelli Square and had a milkshake, then watched a group of afternoon swimmers at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park.

We walked around Fort Mason.

We saw the ORACLE America's Cup sailboat from 2003 sailing about.

We toured the Liberty Ship, the SS Jeremiah O'Brien.

My Papa was on one of the 565 Escort Ships during World War II.

I'm always in the kitchen, no matter what ship I'm on.

This is the navigation room.

We stayed at the most wonderful Airbnb with these folks.

Giuliana and Sandor Miklos are most gracious hosts.

We had Dim Sum at New Asia in Chinatown.

We road the Caltrain to Mountain View.

We visited a Google campus.

I shopped at Trader Joe's.

J thought about riding our friends' neighbor's Google bike.

We ate at In-N-Out.

Now, pictures that weren't firsts, but fun none the less:

No matter how far we go, it seems we always find a reminder of home.

Crissy Field

This fella wrote a book J's been reading, Two Years Before the Mast.

We didn't ride the cable car this time because lines were Walt Disney World long.

Most of these sea lions are males because all the girls have gone to warmer waters this time of year.

Alcatraz Island behind us

We ate here during a previous visit-it was SO good!
