The 7 year itch...on a volcano

Nothing says romance like going to a volcano.  Which is exactly what we did for our 7th anniversary.  The Osorno Volcano has hiking trails and a ski lift to where the glacier begins.  In order to reach the top, you need climbing gear and a guide.  I think I was a trooper for taking the ski lift.  No climbing gear for me, thanks.  

We hiked to the first ski lift station, then took the lift next.  There were some brave souls who hiked all the way up and managed to make it to the top in almost the same time as our ski lift (it was about a 20 minute ride on the lift).

 

I was pretty excited to see the base station and get back on solidish (if you consider volcanic sand solid) ground.
