Burgos to Hornillos del Camino

Miles walked 13.08
Steps taken 32,328
Most exclusive dining experience so far See the Bar Casa Manolo photo at the end of the post

We are in a really small town and there's a little grocery store, but we didn't want to make lunch, so we walked to the one bar/cafe in town. We walked in through this beaded curtain over the door and there's all these metal head guys at the bar. Metallica Enter Sandman is blaring. There's a ramp going down to the back by the bar and there's a red rope that one of the very large metal heads is opening and closing. He's the bouncer. He asks how many, we tell him two. He says it's full, but the wait isn't too long. He keeps jokingly turning around and like, motioning to us calm down, back up.

Then, these other fellows walk in and try to go to the restaurant. He gives them the eye and motions that they need to get behind us, we are in line. So he motions for us to come closer to the rope to wait. A table for two opens up, and he drops the rope and motions for us to go in to the dining room. There's posters of ACDC, Guns and Roses, Pink Floyd, and a couple of cathedral posters on the wall along with several guitars and knives and a Knight's shield.

Songs we heard while eating: Nirvana, Teen Spirit, Cranberries Zombie, Eagles (I can't remember the song), Bob Seager (again, can't remember the song), White Snake, and several Bon Jovi songs.

The food was delicious and when we checked out at the bar, the bouncer asked if we enjoyed our meals. We told him yes and he bought us coffees to drink on the patio of the restaurant.

You might never guess Bar Casa Manolo is a heavy metal bar.  Nor would you guess that the food would be so delicious OR that the very big bouncer man would be so kind and buy us coffees after our meal.

Only on th Camino de Santiago will you find a metal bar/cafe with a bouncer for the restaurant. 😂
