Hornillos del Camino to Castrojeriz

Miles walked 11.57
Steps taken 30,584
Camino moment After hand washing a few pieces of clothes, I hung them out on the line of our albergue.  The weather has been overcast with a little breeze, some sunshine peeking out every now and then.  This afternoon, we were sitting inside the dining area of our albergue, and it started to rain.  I jumped up and ran outside to get my laundry.  Our hosts had already removed the remaining clothes from the outdoor clothes line and we're hanging them in their open air garage.  I almost cried from their kindness.

Leaving town this morning, I heard my friends at Bar Casa Manolo crank up their first song of the day, Sweet Child of Mine, by Guns and Roses.  That'll get a gal motivated to walk at 8 in the morning!  Not to mention the "Where do we go now?" lyrics made me laugh as I looked for our yellow arrows and shells for way markers.

The area we walk through now is about 135 miles and is known as the Meseta.  It is generally flat, and mostly agricultural fields, not many cities along the way.  Right now, the fields are planted with wheat.  We should arrive at the end of the Meseta in about 9 days in Léon.

The ruins were a place of beauty and a nice place to stop for a rest.
